Why we chose an existing facility

Building a new plant takes time: design, permits, construction, commissioning and product qualification. Our customers need supply now. So rather than wait, we took on the full capacity of an established, running facility near the Beni Khaled limestone quarries in Minya.

What this gives our customers:
  • Supply from day one. The equipment is proven and already producing 24 hours a day, six days a week.
  • A facility dedicated to CarboCore. We use its full capacity, so production is planned around our customers' orders.
  • Competitive prices. No new-plant investment is built into our prices, and the limestone travels only a short distance from quarry to mill.
  • Our team, our standards. CarboCore's team runs production, quality control and packing to CarboCore specifications.

The facility

Property Value
Location Beni Khaled area, Minya, Egypt, near the limestone quarries
Operation 24 hours a day, six days a week
Grinding capacity Up to 36 tonnes per hour, depending on fineness
Processes Crushing, dry grinding, air classification and stearic-acid surface treatment
Laboratory On site; every batch is tested before release
Packing 25 kg bags and jumbo bags (FIBC)

Output varies by grade, because finer grades need longer grinding. We confirm available volumes and lead times for each grade with every quotation.

What we produce

Uncoated, coated and specialty coated ground calcium carbonate, D97 from 4 to 45 µm.
All grades: CaCO₃ ≥99.6%, moisture ≤0.20%.

Grades, Technical Data Sheets and the application guide →

From quarry to delivery

01 — Limestone selection

Limestone is selected at source for CaCO₃ purity, whiteness and low silica, iron and magnesium impurities.

02 — Feedstock preparation

Limestone is sorted, crushed and checked for moisture and contamination to keep the mill feed consistent.

03 — Micronization and classification

Controlled milling and air classification target each grade's D50, D97 and oversize limits.

04 — Controlled surface treatment

For coated grades, stearic-acid dosage and processing conditions are controlled for uniform treatment.

05 — Batch testing and traceable packing

Finished material is tested in our on-site laboratory against the grade's Technical Data Sheet. Every bag is marked with the grade, batch number and production date.

06 — Shipment release and documentation

Packaging integrity and loading conditions are checked before dispatch. Each shipment travels with its batch-specific Certificate of Analysis, the applicable TDS and SDS, and the shipping documents.

Quality control

Quality checks run at intake, milling, surface treatment and packing. Before release, every batch is tested in our on-site laboratory for:

  • Particle-size distribution (D50 and D97)
  • Whiteness and brightness
  • Oversize residue
  • Moisture

Results are compared against the grade's Technical Data Sheet. Product that does not meet specification is not released.

Documents and traceability

With every shipment
  • Certificate of Analysis (COA) for each batch
  • Technical Data Sheet (TDS) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
  • Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin
Before you order
  • Technical Data Sheets for every grade
  • Sample COA, on request
  • Independent inspection, on request

The batch number on every bag links it to its production date, test results and COA.

Packaging and export

  • 25 kg PP woven bags
  • 25 kg block-bottom valve bags
  • Jumbo bags (FIBC)

Packaging is confirmed per order. We ship from Red Sea or Mediterranean ports, depending on destination, on FOB, CFR or CIF terms.

The next stage: a dedicated CarboCore plant

Today we produce in an established facility whose full capacity we use. The next stage is a CarboCore-owned plant, built for one purpose: making calcium carbonate to our specifications, at export scale.

What we are designing the new plant to do
  • Dedicated grinding and classification for coated and uncoated grades
  • Continuous stearic-acid surface treatment, integrated into the line
  • A quality laboratory owned and run by CarboCore
  • Automated packing with checkweighing of every bag, in 25 kg bags and jumbo bags
  • Process control that records the operating data of every batch, for full traceability from stone to container
  • Storage, packing and loading designed around container shipments
What it means for our customers
  • More capacity for fine and coated grades as your volumes grow
  • Automated process control, with operating data recorded for every batch
  • A dedicated laboratory for developing new grades with our customers
How we will move production

No grade will move to the new plant until it has been produced, tested and matched to its approved specification. Customers who have qualified a grade will be told in advance and offered samples from the new plant before any change to their supply. Until then, all supply continues from our current production in Minya.

Where the project stands

The investment in the new plant is confirmed. We will announce its location, capacity and timeline as the project progresses. Customers planning long-term volumes are welcome to discuss their requirements with us now. Your input helps decide which grades the plant is built around.
